爆竹声中皆故事，
人间烟火有味道。
中国是世界上最早发明火药的国家，
而以火药制作的烟火爆竹，
同样是中国古老民俗的智慧结晶。
旧时人们认为，
竹筒燃烧爆裂的声音能够惮赫鬼魅，祛除不祥。
这应该是爆竹的由来。
南北朝时期的《荆楚岁时记》中，
就记载了百姓在庭前燃竹筒，避恶鬼的习俗。
隋唐后，人们在竹筒中装入火药，使用更加方便快捷。
宋代人们改用纸包裹火药燃爆，
文化一次次地促进了爆竹的技术发展。
明清两代，爆竹发展出双响震天雷、二踢脚、飞天十响等著名品种。
烟火又名“焰火”、“礼花”等，
是人们在追求声音的享受之外，对光、影、形的又一种追求。
唐代时已经出现“火药什戏烟火”
明代烟火品种更多。
时光流逝，人类的思想和文化逐渐进步，
爆竹和烟火的制造也逐步发展出繁多的花样，
在工艺上也演化出卷筒、切筒、糊底、灌泥、引火药、封眼等多种技术。
爆竹响，烟花繁，
辞暮尔尔，烟火年年，
在极具观赏性的同时，将节日的喜庆气氛推向高潮。
尽显中国劳动人民辟邪除灾、迎祥纳福的美好愿望，
承载着国人心中无法磨灭的情结和不可言明的感动。

Fireworks
Legends lurk in the sound of firecrackers,while charm lingers in the brilliance of fireworks.
Gunpowder was invented in China. Firecrackers,made of gunpowder, represent the wisdom of ancient Chinese folk customs.
Ancient people believed that the sound ofbursting bamboo tubes could scare away evil spirits. This is considered theorigin of firecrackers.
An old book written about 1,600 years ago clearlyrecords this custom.
During the Sui and Tang dynasties (581-907), people put gunpowder insidebamboo tubes, which could be more easily ignited.
In the Song Dynasty (960-1279), people wrappedgunpowder in thick paper, adding to the advancement of firecrackers.
In the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1912),firecrackers came in famous varieties such as the Thunderous Double-crack,Double-bang, and Flying Ten-crack.
Fireworks have many Chinese names. Its animprovement of firecrackers in terms of light, shadow and shape, in addition tosound.
"Gunpowder firework displays" firstappeared in the Tang Dynasty (618-907). There were more varieties during theMing Dynasty (1368-1644).
As time passed by, human thought andculture gradually progressed, creating diversified firework displays.
Various technologies were applied inproducing fireworks, including tube-rolling, tube-cutting, bottom pasting, clayfilling, powder priming and hole-sealing. Patterns and shapes have likewisebeen enriched.
When fireworks are set off, people ring inthe new year.
They bring the festive atmosphere to aclimax while offering people pleasure and excitement.
Fireworksrepresent the wish to ward off evil and welcome good fortune, along with personalsentiment and emotion.
