Inadditiontopoliticalandeconomicexchangesandcooperation,thecollisionbetweenChineseandWesternculturesisincreasinglyobvious.InAmericanvalues,thereisstrongindividualismandequality.ThehierarchyoftheyoungergenerationandtheeldergenerationisnotstronginAmericanfamilies.However，inChineseculture,afilialsonmusttakecareofelderlyandputthemasideorevenletthemlivealonewillbeconsideredasanexpressionofunfiliality.What'smore，therearemanyaspectsinfilmthatreflecttheculturaldifferencesbetweenChineseandWesterncultures,suchasdifferencesindietculture,educationofchildrenandtreatmentofparents.Allofthesehasledtotheoutbreakoffamilyconflicts.
Thetitleofthefilmis"PushHand",whatis"PushHand"?Inmyopinion,itisaboutfindingbalance.Themostimportantthingininterculturalcommunicationistobeinclusiveandrespectful,tofindabalancepointandtoachieveintegrationinexchanges.
